Job Description

Performs responsible technical and human support work providing medical care to patients using basic life support (BLS) and stabilization procedures at the accident or illness scene and during transport to medical facilities. Not to exceed 40 hours per pay period. General knowledge of the methods, materials, practices
and techniques and equipment required for emergency medical treatment in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Possession of an appropriate valid vehicle operators license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia. Current valid Emergency Medical Technician certification issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia. Possession of a valid basic life support provider certificate for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Successful applicants must maintain current EMT-B card and CPR card while in employment with the City of Roanoke.

    Is the job still in the opening postion. I have EMT-B, and EVOC class two with 3 years on vol. Rescue squad

    Do you have to be 21 to have this job or just 18? I have 5 years experience with volunteer and a class 3 evoc. how many hours to fill? What shifts?
