1. Duties will include but not be limited to:
2. Responding to all emergency calls (except security calls) in and around the complex
3. Respond to all fire and chemical detection alarms
4. Provide incipient fire suppression
5. Provide Haz Mat Operations level response
6. Oversee all hazardous work activities such as hot work, confined space entry and fall protection
7. Conduct atmospheric detection and monitoring when necessary
8. Provide non-emergency medical care to employees, contractors and visitors
9. Act as the primary contact for facility management staff during an incident
10. Act as the Incident Commander during all types of incidents
11. Maintain all safety and emergency response equipment in the facility
12. Conduct and document safety inspections of all equipment, including hood systems & Bio-safety cabinets
13. Provide and document fire prevention inspections
14. Conduct safety orientation training classes
15. Conduct training classes on fire prevention, use of portable fire extinguishers, hazardous material awareness, evacuation, incident management, CPR/AED and other safety classes
16. Participate in in-service training activities
17. Assist with the coordination of special events held in the complex

Peninsulas EMS Council, Inc. is looking to fill the full time position of EMS Field Coordinator (Clinical Care). The EMS Field Coordinator (Clinical Care) is responsible for managing various programs and functions to include the development, implementation, and coordination of the clinical care programs, which may include Regional Performance Improvement Program, Northern Neck Quality Assurance Program, Regional STEMI Plan and Stroke Plan. Work may also involve assignment to any of the council programs when deemed necessary. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Assistant Director.

Minimum Education and Experience: Certification as a Nationally Registered or Virginia EMT-Intermediate in good standing with the Virginia Office of EMS, Three (3) years experience in emergency medical services work, and must possess and maintain a valid Virginia driver’s license with a good driving record.

Preferred Requirements: Associates Degree in health science or related field, certification as a Nationally Registered or Virginia Paramedic, and two (2) years EMS leadership experience.

Pay Rate: $17.00/hr ($35,360.00/year)

Preferences: Thorough knowledge of local, state and federal Fire and EMS Training guidelines and requirements. This includes knowledge and understanding of NFPA, Virginia Dept. of Fire Programs and Office of Emergency Medical Services and guidelines. Prince George County, Virginia is currently seeking a Director of Fire, EMS and Emergency Services. Prince George Fire Services is composed of over 250 active and associate Volunteers and 10 Career personnel. There are five Volunteer Fire Companies with six stations, one Emergency Crew and an Administrative Office. The position will be responsible for planning, organizing and directing the overall operation of the fire departments, emergency medical services and emergency services for the County; coordinating emergency planning for all man-made and natural disasters; managing the County Fire, EMS and Emergency Services; coordinating disaster and hazardous materials responses.

Qualification Requirements:
Qualified candidates will have comprehensive knowledge of fire, EMS, emergency services and disaster planning management; extensive knowledge of laws and regulations controlling fire, EMS and emergency services; proven management and administrative skills; ability to lead, direct and manage the activities of volunteer and career personnel; ability to establish and maintain productive and harmonious working relationships with volunteers, career personnel, government officials and the public; ability to prepare technical and informative reports and present complex information to varied audiences; ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion in emergency situations.

Must possess any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a major course work in a field related to the Department and extensive experience in fire, emergency services and/or emergency medical services, with extensive management experience and working with volunteers.

Special Requirements:
Possession of an appropriate driver’s license valid in the Commonwealth of Virginia; current certification as Emergency Manager by the Virginia Department of Emergency Management or current Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) certification by the International Association of Emergency Management; certification as EMT/Paramedic; certification as Hazardous Materials Technician; certification as Fire Officer II; certification as Fire Instructor II; and certification as an Emergency Vehicle Operator; or, ability to obtain certifications within six months of employment.

Pre-employment physical/drug testing and comprehensive criminal background investigation is required.
