Position Summary Responsible for responding to fire and other emergencies, taking action to fight fires or mitigate other situations, providing emergency medical services and transporting patients as necessary. Maintain facility and equipment and prepare related records and reports. Assist with fire prevention planning.
Firefighter/Medics may also qualify to join elite specialty teams such as Hazmat, Dive, MIRT, Technical Rescue and the Bomb Squad once probation has been completed.
Minimum age requirement is 20 years old with a high school diploma or GED; however, will consider applicants at least 18 years old who have the equivalent of a high school diploma and relevant certifications.

Special Requirements/Certifications Requires a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Requires an acceptable background investigation.
Selected candidates will be required to sign a no-tobacco use agreement.
Employees in this job are required to refrain from all use of controlled substances and are subject to controlled substances testing including random testing in accordance with City policies.
